WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The cities of Alpine, American Fork, Cedar Hills, Draper (the Utah County portion), Highland and Lehi conducted a study on creating a new Central School District (CSD). The study evaluated the fiscal impacts, including start-up costs, staffing, capital facilities, enrollment growth, and revenue projections from federal, state, and local sources. The study concluded that forming a CSD could reduce future property tax burdens compared to remaining in the Alpine School District (ASD). After a dozen public hearings, city councils unanimously voted to place the proposal, listed as Prop #11, on the November 5, 2024 ballot. If Prop #11 passes, voters will elect a new school board in November 2025, with the board beginning operations in July 2027.
